The sold-out AES Europe 2023 Convention was held at the Aalto University in Espoo, Finland in between 13th–15th of May. The convention focused on audio research, technology, audio standards, and insights as well as audio engineering fundamentals and education, with more than 140 thematic workshops, research paper presentations, and more.
Two preconvention events were offered, including a technical tour to the YLE Finnish Broadcasting Company, research workshop, demonstrations and discussions of current trends in acoustics research in the Aalto University Acoustics lab. Participants had also the chance to join friends and colleagues for a sightseeing cruise on Saturday evening and enjoy the archipelago scenery. A student party was held on the next day where participants were advised to bring sauna towels and dance shoes.
